Every day we as people go about our lives encountering a life full of questions; White or wheat? Would you like to "biggie" size that? Boxers or Briefs? Would you like a receipt? To skip class and head to the beach when it's 90 degrees out or not? Chick-Fil-A or KFC? To Vote or to complain about the outcome later without voting? The list goes on and on and on. Sometimes we don't even stop to think about all the different questions we encounter on a daily basis.
The reality of the matter is simple; to every question there must be a response. Everyday we make decisions without ever fully thinking through the matter. Each day we encounter a multitude of people who have never fully thought, or not even given thought to the most important question that could ever be asked to someone; Who is Jesus and what will you do with Him?
On our college campuses, in our workplaces, in our communities, and even within the walls of our churches this question must be brought to the center of attention to all people everywhere. Some of us may need to really take time and ask ourselves, "Who is Jesus?" It is our task as His people to present this question to all people.
As ministers, we need to be sure that the Jesus we are preaching is the biblical Jesus and not a cultural icon. As followers of Christ, we need to know that we are following the biblical Jesus; the one who calls us to deny ourselves, humbly bow to His Lordship, and follow even unto death.
Today the question still remains, and will always remain. Who is Jesus? What Will you do with Him? When we encounter these questions and respond faithfully, our lives will never be the same.
So turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things on earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His Glory and Grace.
