moblizing for missions

Recently, our Youth Community here at WBBC has taken up the "Acts 1:8 Challenge" that is put forth by the International Mission Board. The Challenge is actually put out directed towards churches as whole, but our Youth Community is taking up the Challenge next week.

The Challenge is simple; To get churches and ministries passionate about the awesome responsibility in taking the Gospel to all people groups in the world. There are 8 "Kingdom Growing Responses" that the Acts 1:8 church must do;

1. Prepare
2. Learn
3. Pray
4. Give
5. Go
6. Tell
7. Send
8. Multiply

The idea behind all of this is to prepare our people for the call of God to all believers to take the Gospel to all families, to have them learn of the opportunities and the call given unto them, to engage their hearts and minds in prayer over missions, to enable them to give to the work of the ministry, to equip them to GO to all Nations and Tell them of the Great News of Christ's redemptive work on the Cross, to Send out more people over a period of time to allow them to answer the call to missions, and to eventually plant churches in areas where the Gospel is not known.

Am I suggesting that I see our next church planters in WBBC Student Communities? YES, ans a matter of fact I do. Our next great missionaries are in our midst today folks! We must provide them with the challenge so they can respond. We must "RAISE THE BAR!!!"What a beautiful thing it is to be a part of the work of God in our world and in our community. Let's be mission minded people this week. Let's always have it on our minds and hearts on "how we can help further advance the Kingdom of God" where we are now and ask God to help you hear where He may be calling you.
