For the past 4 weeks, our Students have been subjected to a huge "stretching" of their minds in our series titled "Discover." We have begun our search of a Biblical Worldview and what it looks like by determining that ALL PEOPLE have a worldview whether they realize it or not. The tricky part is getting our fellow brothers and sisters to "Discover" if theirs is biblical or not.
This morning I received an email from a local Youth Pastor asking for advice on how to get his students to really GROW in their walk with the Lord. The question I posed back to him was simple; "Are you teaching the WORD to them, or just a 12 step formula on how to have a better New Year?" His reply was "I guess a little of both."
The need for our students to hear the Word of God is so great. To watch these students here at WBBC begin to understand and develop their view of the world and how as a believer it should be filtered through the Scriptures is irreplaceable. We are committed to raising the standards of the "Status Quo" in Youth Ministry here at WBBC, and trust me, when you raise the standards, the students WILL respond.
I urge you to raise your standards of teaching to your students. Raise your standards to the preaching that you hear week in and week out. The Gospel is more than just formulas, the Gospel is Grace. The Gospel is Jesus. We need to be people whose lives are being transformed into that very image of God that was found in His son Jesus Christ.
