Summer Series

The buzz is in the air. We are all too familiar with that sound. It's the sound of laziness for some, beach bummin for others, foreign mission work, sleeping until noon, and deep sea fishing. Yep, you guessed it, it's that "SUMMER IS ALMOST HERE" buzz.

Somehow, in the midst of our "extremely busy lives" during the summer (note the hint of sarcasm here) we often find ourselves neglecting those things that are of the utmost importance; mowing the grass, working out, keeping up with friends from classes, etc...

If you are anything like me when I was in high school, most of my spiritual disciplines took a back seat. I had way too much going on to really allow God to work in my life. Baseball, Camps, Work, etc... The list goes on forever. Sure, the summer mission trip and camp with church really got me my "Spiritual Fix" for a few weeks, but let's face it, I was right back to my normal self days after these camps had ended. Something had to change and that something was me.

This summer, we will begin a series for our Student Ministry here at WBBC called "Line Open." We want to hammer home the idea that God is not an afterthought and nor is He the "I'll go to you when it's convenient" God either. He doesn't take vacations, summer breaks, spring break trips, mission trips, or camps. He never has sick days nor does he take sabbaticals. He is the God who ALWAYS HAS THE LINE OPEN for us.

Also, Youth Pastors, don't forget that we will have our summer prayer time together on the 1st Wednesday of every month. We will saturate our students, our community, and this world with prayer and truly bring our churches together as we work to win our city for the Gospel.
